How it all happened at CWI
While I was attending CWI’s Intro to Web-Design class. The week before class began, I learned how to get everything free and low-cost. I used docker to build my database, reverse-proxy w/ SSL, and of course WordPress.
I later learned the Elementor was not for me, and cost a lost, so I found Kadence Block Editor. Which to this day, is my go to Gutenberg based block editor. I created 3 different sites within that semester and learned how to get good at managing, and setting up fast and easy.
The sad advantage was I stuck-out like a sore thumb due to other students who either had to pay monthly for their server or use wordpress.com. I think I was one of the only people to have plugins in the class.
I simply asked the instructor how I could help out.
What I have done
I was tasked to help out students as a TA in the class. I helped with studying and giving weekly tips in the discussion board. Being able to make sure the course content goes with the textbook. I also got to tutor the students as well, and typically I had others that came back for more questions.
Currently we are getting ready to implement a strategy to get cheap and/or free ways for students to also have their own website for free for class. (11/6)
I will also be helping other students help finish the semester strong.
