Complexity or Hands-off?

Google Workspace and Microsoft Azure for your business have their own strengths and weaknesses. Mainly Google has the weaknesses though. Microsoft has had years of work in this specific field which is Active Directory/Azure. It is cheap and easy to get into, as well as many It professionals understand this system with the back of their hand. Although it takes many years of experience, and Google offer’s a couple click solution. This is great for companies that the CEO likes to be ahold of and the HR worker can learn super easy.

What do I need to run these on?

Microsoft and Google both offer low cost cloud solutions, although many people prefer the on-premise system a Microsoft Active Directory server can allow. It allows for fast setup, easy navigation, and is commonly known for must technical professionals. Although it would be expensive for many companies with more than 50 people. Personally, I run an AD server in my home just for fun on a computer from 2005. Google Workspace, yet again, makes it easy to understand their services. and the use of Google Drive and how their sharing capabilities work. While sharing in SharePoint (Microsoft) can be laborious to set up, and make no sense if not configured correctly. Then you have OneDrive that still doesn’t make sense, and can lose you data or having to spend mass amounts of hours reorganizing due to improper setup.

What would I do?

Google is always good to get on early on. You’ll lose some needed features that Microsoft has; such as having multiple license variations rather than stuck being on one license for the whole company. As well as many security features. Although once expansion is looking good, you can always upgrade to a much superior system like Microsoft. Although maybe you could have just been on Microsoft to begin with.
